Universal conductivity in the two-dimensional boson Hubbard model.
We use Quantum Monte Carlo to evaluate the conductivity σ of the 2–dimensional disordered boson Hubbard model at the superfluid-bose glass phase boundary. At the critical point for particle density ρ = 0.5, we find σ c = (0.45 + 0.07)σ Q , where σ Q = e 2 * /h from a finite size scaling analysis of the superfluid density. We obtain σ c = (0.47 + 0.08)σ Q from a direct calculation of the current...
متن کاملTwo-Dimensional Gas of Disks: Thermal Conductivity
The phenomenon of heat conduction in a two-dimensional gas of N hard disks is studied in the hydrostatic regime by means of nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (N ranging from 100 to 8000). For systems with N>~I500 the temperature and density profiles observed are in excellent agreement with the continuous theory, but the conductivity k differs from the one derived from Enskog's theory in a syste...
متن کاملThe Metalliclike Conductivity of a Two-Dimensional Hole System
We report on a zero magnetic field transport study of a two-dimensional, variable-density, hole system in GaAs. As the density is varied we observe, for the first time in GaAs-based materials, a crossover from an insulating behavior at low density, to a metalliclike behavior at high density, where the metallic behavior is characterized by a large drop in the resistivity as the temperature is lo...
متن کاملSpin-Hall conductivity in a two-dimensional Rashba electron gas
Spin-Hall conductivity and Pauli susceptibility of 2D electron gas with Rashba spin-orbital interaction is studied theoretically in the semiclassical limit kFl 1. Static spin-Hall conductivity is shown to be zero for any nonvanishing disorder strength in the general case of the momentum-dependent Rashba velocity p and nonparabolic spectrum p . This result is derived both by an explicit diagramm...
متن کاملA Two-dimensional Functional Permutational Central
Some two-dimensional time-parameter stochastic processes are constructed from a sequence of linear rank statistics by considering their projections on the spaces generated by the (double) sequence of anti-ranks. Under appropriate regularity conditions, it is shown that these processes weakly converge to Brownian sheets in the Skorokhod Jl-topology on the D2 [0,ll space. This unifies and extends...
